SyncThermology in Latvia

SyncThermology headed over to Latvia last weekend to lecture for veterinary surgeons, practitioners and provide screening clinics for their clients. Sophie Gent left the UK before landing in Riga in -24. The initial lecture was provided on the Saturday at Ilze and Ravio Salms equestrian centre and then we went on to practical work/ demonstrations.

SyncThermology at Kirkley Hall College

We were invited to deliver a lecture on veterinary thermography to animal care and veterinary nursing students at Kirkley Hall College in Northumberland today. Sophie and Amanda teamed up for the lecture and demonstration and were assisted by the college's donkey Lilly who made a great case study, giving the students a chance to see how the technology works in the field.

Training courses held at Twemlows Stud

SyncThermology are delighted to announce that Twemlows Stud in Shropshire is one of our new training locations. Monthly training courses and veterinary CPD will be held at the facility and our first course starts on the 21st of February.

Our service is 100% safe, completely non-invasive and we come to you. Screening tests can take between 15 minutes to an hour depending on what information is needed and involves a non-contact examination using a medical thermography system.

Scans are collected by our team of thermographers and then they are sent to our veterinary surgeons for interpretation. Your results and veterinary report will include objective opinion, recommendation and information that will assist diagnosis, help to select treatment options and monitor recovery.

Detecting Lameness and Injury

Once lameness has occurred finding the source of the issues and providing the correct treatment is top priority. Helping to detect non-specific and difficult to diagnose lamenesses is thermography’s main contribution to veterinary medicine.

SyncThermology aim to locate the primary source of lameness as well as any secondary issues that may go unnoticed or untreated. Thermography is completely non-invasive and can evaluate the full body within an hour, extremely helpful when initially attempting to localise the source of lameness.

Equine Thermography

Equine thermography also know as DITI (Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging) is a non-invasive diagnostic test of physiology that has evolved over the last 20 years. Thermography has been recognised as a useful tool in the early identification of musculoskeletal and neurological injuries, especially non-specific (and difficult to diagnose) lameness. The ability to detect inflammatory and neurological processes at an early stage can be critical to evaluation and recovery. Veterinary thermography is unique in its ability to show physiological abnormalities and can graphically display and record subjective feeling of pain by objectively displaying changes in the skins surface temperature that accompanies a state of pain.
